Groove Armada, Chaka Khan and others to play at Good Times In The Park

Norman Jay, the Brit DJ and MBE holder, is launching his very own new West London fest named Good Times In The Park. Good Times soundsystem of Norman Jay has been a raw material of the Notting Hill Carnival since the 80s as well as a major attraction for thousands of people who attend the 2 day August bank holiday program.
This year, however, would mark the 1st year of Good Times happening outside Notting Hill Carnival for the very first time in its thirty year history. The 1st two day Good Times In The Park fest as well as West London’s very first music fest, instead would take place in the Wormwood Scrubs Park on 13th and 14th September, i.e. Saturday and Sunday.
The names includes an exclusive Brit performance from Chaka Khan. And the days would also see Groove Armada, LTJ Bukem, Idris Elba, Toddla T, The Brand New Heavies, Fabio and Grooverider, Dub Pistols, David Rodigan, Goldie, Jazzie B, Ms Dynamite as well as many more hit to the stage.
According to reports, Groove Armada’s Tom and Andy told that they are really chuffed at being able to act for Norman at his first festival. The spirit of a fest starts with the crew of people who are involved in it, and that is the great thing about Good Times In The Park, as Norman has people he grew up with and who were a part of the scene involved.

Shaggy’s You Girl track video to premier today

Shaggy’s single ‘You Girl’s music video is all set to premier today at 12 midday on the homepage of VEVO, stated a local publicists. The track would also feature United Stated star Ne Yo. VEVO page is there on popular video streaming site YouTube.

‘You Girl’ was filmed on location in Jamaica. This speaks about a love story showing the life of a lovely Jamaican couple. Prospects of real Jamaican culture are depicted quite skillfully throughout the music video; revealing Jamaica as a place where love can be found.

The video is directed by Scorpio 21’s Renais Marshall. It was bought at by Wisynco’s Bigga brand.  This track was the very first to be unveiled from the thirteen album track called ‘Sly and Robbie Presents Shaggy Out of Many One Music unveiled on 24th September this year. This is the album’s 2nd track and it has also hit the number one position in several charts.

Once, Shaggy dominated Hot 100 with top hits like “It Wasn’t Me” and “Angel”. He spent 6 weeks on the top of the Billboard 200 with the tracks “Hot Shot”, his eclectic sound blending a series of influences.

Now, coming back to reggae roots following twenty years mainstream music success, Shaggy unveiled “Out of Many, One Music” earlier on 29th September at an event in Jamaica. This is the same free event that started thirty two years ago and takes place every Sunday.

Shaggy feels he is underrated

Singer and rapper Shaggy stated that he does thing that his performances gets overlooked. Recently he did a concert at the O2 Arena in London. There, when he was signing autographs, one woman told him that she was a Jamaican and she was listening to Shaggy’s tracks for several years. She thinks that Shaggy is great when he sings live, but otherwise he is one of the rubbish pop acts. With all the recognition as pop star, the rapper is used to being underrated. With popularity and mainstream success, the allegations are that his tracks lack substance.

Shaggy told that he has very much authenticity in him and it just gets overshadowed, but he could get the stats out. He has the capability go to any genre.

Shaggy was born in the year 1968 in Kingston as Orville Richard Burrell. When he was 18 years old, he went to a Brooklyn neighborhood. He had a short stint in Marine Corps. He released his very first album called Pure Pleasure in the year 1993. His first hit was Oh Carolina, which gave him an overnight popularity. He did not want to rest on his success. His record label wanted him to release another follow up, but he did not because he did not want to repeat himself. He argued with his label for that.

Shaggy’s album Boombastic released in the year 1995, won a Grammy for the best reggae album of the year. The singer told that it had totally different direction and feel.

Shaggy all set to spread his reggae music magic

The reggae is all around in Bogota now and its fury will be felt in the Colombian capital on 20th September. ‘Sexy Lady’, ‘Angel’, ‘It was not me’ and ‘Boombastic’ are some of the greatest hits by rapper Shaggy, who is now all set to present an event without precedent in Theatre Royal Center.

This rapper from Jamaica comes again with reggae rhythms that have conquered people across the world. For several years, he has topped the charts of world music. More than to its successes, The Jamaican artist will now perform tracks from his new album named ‘Out of many, One Music’.

His climb to the chair of reggae music started at the age of 18 when he went to the United Stated with his family and looking forward to make his dream come true. His dream was nothing but singing. Because of their their economic condition, he had to enlist in the United States Navy. He even went to Gulf War in the 90s and after that he went to the show.

The launch came in the year 1993 with his very 1st album named ‘Pure Pleasure’ that had the track ‘Oh Carolina’ one of the top tracks in United Kingdom pop history.

Jamaica Carnival With Shaggy

Machel Montano, the Soca King, is now in Jamaica for a big Trinidadian style carnival, with singer Shaggy, named Pandemonium. Machel Montano stopped by Onstage along with Winford Williams to talk about the highly expected soca party.

The Vibes Cyah Done DJ also spoke up about his new trial which finished in a conviction. Montano told that the case was finished right after carnival. Of course, the sentencing was after event but the judgment was actually passed during event. Probably like 2 – 3 weeks before the huge week. The case has been with them for around 5 years. It was a bar brawl, an incident with few fans and later it escalated outside the bar and later they were found guilty. Machel was cleared on his visa issues.

Shaggy talked about his brand new label called Ranch Entertainment and he was also launching different new ventures the even includes clothing line and rum.

Orville Richard Burrell, popularly known by the name Shaggy, is a Jamaican American rapper and pop singer. He is well known for his top singles such as Angel, Boombastic and It Wasn’t Me. Once he told that he took his stage name because of his shaggy hair. He was born in Kingston in Jamaica. When he was 18 years old, he along with his family went to the Flatbush area in Brooklyn New York. In the year 1987, he took some singing courses in NYC and he was discovered a year later, when he was singing with his friends in the streets.

Shaggy all set for Palmares Festival 2013

It seems that 2013 Palmares is all set to be Boombastic. The organizers of this yearly party and festival have confirmed that Shaggy would be one of the music artists who would be present in this event.

The list of forthcoming concerts has already been published on the Jamaican-American artist’s official website and it has been confirmed that he would be a part of 2013 Fiestas de Palmares. In the midst of all this it is still not known whether the event is organized by the Brewery Costa Rica or the Civic Association Palmareña.

Till now, the Palmareña Civic Association has stated that 2 major concerts for the 2013 Festival of Palmares – one is Festival Ranchero (with Joan Sebastian and Maribel Guardia) on 12th January and the second one is the Latino Festival (with Tamela Hedström, Son of Tikizia, Prince Royce and Fonseca) on 13th January.

According to reports, all the details regarding the concert would be revealed very soon at a press conference and that will be at Atocha station restaurant. Apart from all the good music, there are several good events that people could take part in.

Few days ago, the singer Shaggy whose real name is Orville Burrell brought a Christmas cheer to all the patients at St Andrew’s Bustamante Hospital for Children. Some of the kids in the hospital were really excited to see the reggae artiste. The doctors at the hospital expressed their gratitude to Shaggy.
