Opinion Poll: David Bowie named favorite to play at Glastonbury event this year

July 7th, 2014 by admin
David Bowie has been selected as the top favorite act set to revealed for this year’s Glastonbury music festival, leaving behind the likes of Prince and Foo Fighters to claim the top position. Music lovers voted in thousands in a Gigwise opinion poll to name who they would prefer to see play at Worthy Farm festival later in June, naming Thin White Duke as their top act.
While the Glastonbury artists’ line-up is anticipated to be declared any day from now. Music fans might be left foiled as David Bowie has consistently denied rumors that he would play any live events off the back of his insanely successful and critically-acclaimed 2013 comeback album named The Next Day.
Elsewhere in the opinion poll, Foo Fighters came in 2nd spot. The band has played a series of events in the United States and Mexico very recently, as they got ready to release their forthcoming 8th one. Dave Grohl is yet to declare any dates for the United Kingdom, and with the album anticipated later this summer, the rock stars have been a very strong Glastonbury rumor for a few months.
In another place, Prince placed 3rd in their opinion poll, while Pharrell came at number four position and Bombay Bicycle Club finished their top – five. Also, Prince has rejected any ‘relation’ with Glasto this year, but Bombay Bicycle Club and Pharrell seem far more likely to hit the stage.
